Meet the team:

Heidi Johannessen

Expert FPGA / Software Designer

Heidi has been part of the projection industry for almost three decades. She entered the industry in 1999 as a software developer at ASK in Fredrikstad, and has been working with projection technology ever since. Today at Norxe, she works at the heart of our systems as an Expert FPGA and Software Designer, a role where long-term reliability and architectural clarity is vital.

When asked what quality means in her role, Heidi’s answer is straightforward and uncompromising: the product has to work, always. In practical terms, this means stability at the lowest levels of the system. For FPGA-based designs, that comes down to things like timing closure, deterministic behavior, and robustness under all operating conditions. These are details most users never see, but they are fundamental to ensuring that a projector behaves predictably day after day, year after year.

One of the projects Heidi is particularly proud of is the UNIFY™ platform. UNIFY represents years of architectural thinking, iteration, and collaboration, bringing together processing, control, and system-level functionality into a coherent whole. For Heidi, it’s not just about features, but about creating a solid foundation that new products can be built on and evolved over time.

Heidi highlights the value of good architectural discussions when creating new products, where ideas are challenged, refined, and turned into real solutions. Just as importantly, she points to the strong sense of belonging: being part of what she describes as the Norxe family.

Asked to describe the Norxe team in three words, Heidi keeps it simple and precise: innovative, proactive, family. It’s a combination that reflects both how we work and how we support each other, and it’s a mindset that runs through everything we build!
